Special education, also called aided education, exceptional education and aided education is aimed at addressing the needs and education of students who have special educational needs in a way that their individual differences and needs are addressed. Often, this method involves a systematically monitored and planned method of teaching processes, along with equipment, things and settings that are specifically adapted. It is aimed at equipping the students with special needs with better self-sufficiency and success in community and school than otherwise if the student had access to only a typical education in a normal classroom.
Role of Special Education
The development of a child is a beautiful time in his or her life. Education is important. But some children need special care to cope up with developmental and physical limitations. Children with developmental problems or those with special needs have needs that are different from other children. This could be physical, psychological, or otherwise. These children start to perceive and experience their surroundings in a unique and special way…in their own way. The role of special education in such a scenario is to
Identify each child’s individual needs and facilitate a way to help the child to learn
Help the child to understand and express the world like any other child without the feeling of exclusion.
Playing a role of facilitator to help the child find confidence in itself and encourage him or her towards learning.
Reduce the gap between any special aids student and non-special aids student.
